  2. Take a photo of yourself with your photo ID
  3. Start the webcam and screen recording
  4. Share your entire screen (click the screen image first if the Share button is grayed out)
  5. Click through all required permission pop-ups
My Mac won’t share the screen. What do I do?

Follow these Apple instructions to allow screen sharing: Apple Screen Sharing Help

Do I need to keep the setup window open?

Yes! Do NOT close the pop-up box that says “DO NOT CLOSE THIS BOX.” It’s required for monitoring.

🧑‍💼 During the Exam
Can I talk to anyone or use my phone during the exam?

No. Talking to others is strictly prohibited and will result in automatic disqualification. The only exception is if you’ve been approved by IICRC for an ADA accommodation. If you're expecting an emergency call, you may answer briefly — but you must not discuss the exam or leave your screen.

Can I open other tabs, windows, or programs on my computer?

No. Your entire screen is being recorded. You must only have the exam window open. Opening anything else will disqualify your attempt.

Can I use a second screen or monitor?

No. You must disconnect all extra monitors before you begin. Multiple screens may block your exam or flag it for review.

Can I leave my seat or take a break?

Brief bathroom breaks are allowed, but do not leave more than 2 times or for more than 10 minutes total. Otherwise, you may be disqualified.

My webcam turns off when it’s too quiet — what can I do?

Some webcams stop recording if there’s no sound. Keep a low background noise (like soft music or a ticking clock) to avoid this issue.

What happens if I accidentally close the recording window?

Closing the box labeled “DO NOT CLOSE THIS BOX” will stop your webcam and screen recording. This may disqualify your exam.
