Class Description

What is the IICRC CDS course objective?

Taught by award-winning experienced RC instructors, the IICRC CDS Commercial Drying Specialist certification course will give students the ability to demonstrate expertise in water damage inspection and evaluation, workflow management, process administration, and technical methods of effective and timely drying of commercial, industrial, institutional, and complex residential water-damaged structures, systems, and furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE). This 4-day in-depth certification course is designed for the experienced technician, project manager, estimator, or owner/manager seeking to expand their understanding of commercial construction, drying practices, challenges, and opportunities, or those looking to enhance their project management skills.

Is there a prerequisite class for the CDS course?

YES. Participants are required to have completed and successfully passed the the IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) course and exam.

Is the IICRC CDS exam hard?

Can I take the CDS exam online?

Absolutely! In fact, if you take an online CDS course the IICRC requires the student to take the online CDS certification exam within 45 days upon completion of the course. If you are a little nervous or anxious about taking the exam and want a little extra time to study we highly recommend considering the online CDS course. You have 45 extra days to study!

If the CDS course is presented in-person the instructor will distribute and monitor the hand-written exam immediately following the course…and the exam can only be taken at the time of distribution.

How much does the IICRC CDS exam cost?

The IICRC CDS exam fee is $80.00. The CDS course registration does not include IICRC certification exam application fee. All certification exam oversight and fees are handled by the IICRC. Click here for directions on how to register for an IICRC exam.

How long will it take to get my IICRC CDS Certification after I pass the exam?

After you have successfully passed the CDS exam by obtaining a score of 75% or more, the IICRC will send out your certification documents in 4-6 weeks.
