Hazard Communication (HazCom) Safety Training
The Hazard Communication (HazCom) Safety Training course provides essential instruction for workers who handle, use, or may be exposed to hazardous chemicals in the workplace. This training introduces the principles of OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard and helps employees understand how to recognize chemical hazards, interpret safety information, and follow proper procedures to reduce the risk of exposure.
This two-hour course focuses on hazard awareness, chemical safety practices, and workplace communication systems used to inform employees about potentially dangerous substances. Students will learn how to read Safety Data Sheets (SDS), understand chemical labeling systems, and follow safe handling procedures when working around hazardous materials.
Hazard Communication training is required by OSHA for employees who may be exposed to hazardous chemicals as part of their job duties. Employers must provide this training at the time of initial assignment and whenever new chemical hazards are introduced into the workplace.
This course complements other safety training such as Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP) and provides workers with the knowledge needed to safely work in environments where chemical hazards may be present.
Students who complete the course will receive a Restoration Certified Certificate of Completion verifying their participation in Hazard Communication safety training.
